Robert Scoble Leaves Microsoft for PodTech.Net

Posted on 16 June 2006 by Tommy

Robert Scoble a great buddy and a person that I really admire has left Microsoft for the newly funded PodTech.Net. PodTech is an innovative Network for technology pod castors a like. It seeks to provide informative news from some of the freshest voices in technology, media and business today.“Just another network that I can’t live without, which aids me through my long subway commutes.”

This however, brings me back to my whole notion that now more then ever were seeing some of the greatest minds joining startups rather then giant corporations. I know while I was studying at University of Binghamton I have always wanted to work for a large corporation, but it wasn’t until the summer of 2005 I realized that it might not be all that rewarding. I want to influence, I want to lead, I want to really make a difference; and that may be hard in a large bureaucratic corporation. When working for startups on the other hand everyday is exciting, your job is spontaneous, your efforts are resient throughout the organization; and in turn that makes working fun.

I know Robert has no regrets for working at Microsoft, they have provide and treated him well. I guess there comes a point in your career when you just have to move on. So best of luck to you Robert and please do another Twit show I loved the show last time you were on.
