The limitless Yankees has just reach an agreement with Johnny Damon worth four years, $52 million. Yankees will add speed in the field as well as a much needed lead off hitter with the 32 year old Damon who hit .316 and scored 117 runs last season …

‘Sad to say bye to some of the greatest fans in the world. Unfortunately they had to see this day, but it’s time for me to move forward,’ Damon said during an interview on WBZ television in Boston. ‘They were coming after me aggressively. We know George Steinbrenner’s reputation. He always wants to have the best players, and I think he showed that tonight. He and Brian Cashman came after me hard,’ Damon added.

This is a huge pick up for the Yankees signing away one of their rivals (Boston Redsox) best players. Is it safe to say the Yankees have the edge in the East now….
