My MacBook

I was sitting in front of my MacBook today and realized that I never posted any of the pics I’ve taken of my MacBook. So for your enjoyment here’s my MacBook out of the box and in action. I’m not going to give a review since there are so many available already but, I will say that the performance surely exceeds the prices. Best value for a portable notebook on the market, hands down.

The MacBook is Finally Here

mac book

Early this morning Apple Sneaked the MacBooks in to its Store and it’s official the new addition to the Apple Family is here. The MacBook replaces the iBook line with a one screen configuration (13″), three processor configurations, and 2 color options.

I love the screen size; it’s not too small so you can actually do real working, yet portable enough to carry around when traveling. The Processor speeds are just what I had imaged it to be, enough for me to run the power apps without over-clocking. Built in iSight will make it more convenient to do internet conferences, while Front Row with the Apple Remote will provide entertainment away from home. Not to mention the addition of the magsafe power adapter and it’s out of box application bundle.

The only compliant I have is the glossy screen that Apple issues with the MacBooks and is an option on the Pro Model. It may cause a mirror effect with the addition of light, which may make it hard to watch videos or edit media.

On another note, why does Apple have to charge more for the Black option? That really sucks. Not that it affects me because I’m a classic guy so I’ll be purchasing the white one but, for all my friends that are black color junkies. Never the less, Apple hit it on point with the MacBook. The feature set is amazing and so is the price. I can’t wait to pick one of these up at the end of the week.

Eye-Fi

Eye-Fi

The one thing I’m really missing from my camera is a fast an easy way to upload my photos without the hassle of having to deal with wires. WiFi is the solution and although many of the new digital cameras come with this built-in feature, millions of digital cameras already out there don’t have this capability.

Eye-Fi is the quick solution to that problem. they are working on a technology that incorporates WiFi functions into the flash storage. There first product to be released will be a 1GB flash SD card with built-in WiFi. The cost will be very much comparable to the 1Gb flash cards without WiFi on the market today.

With this technology it will bring ease of use to the individual consumer as well as boost the opportunity to produce many new business ventures (wireless photo printing hubs, etc.).

Eye-Wifi is currently the owner of the intellectual property rights behind this technology, so look for them to license it out to flash memory producers in the coming months.

Mac Pro

It seems a company called ExperCom is selling standard-speced MacBook Pros pre-loaded with Windows XP. This gives users that want Apple hardware to work with windows without having to deal boot camp themselves.

The funny thing about this is if you read there product description you will notice this Statement:

“We don’t support Windows XP - and neither does Apple. We’ll install it for you, but, hey, we’re Mac people, so we can’t help answer Windows questions! Give us a call at 888-563-6112″
