Blue Spoon is an independent cafe that is very small, cute, and cozy. They have a total of five proper tables and a window counter that seats two. The service is very prompt and friendly. They offer Intelligentsia Coffee from Chicago, which is hard to find in the NYC. In addition to their caffeinated offerings, they also serve well regarded soups, sandwiches, and pastries.

I stopped into Blue Spoon for a cup of coffee because I had an hour to kill and found their coffee to be exceptionally good. Prices here are competitive and the free wifi is awesome. For you book worms out there, Blue Spoon sports a book swap section at the front of the store.

The first time I tried Itoen Green Tea was when I was in Japan and I fell in love with this drink. Not only is it healthy, but it taste amazing. It’s unsweetened, has no Calories, no added flavors or colors, and packed with vitamin C. It’s brewed using first flush green tea leaves and serves as a good source of catechins, and natural green tea antioxidants. It cost about $2 for a 16 oz or $5 for a 64 oz bottle bottle at your local Asian market or convenient store.

Cheon Yeon Cider is a Korean Soda Made by Ilhwa. It’s smells a little like cream soda, but it doesn’t have a strong taste. Instead it tastes like a mixture of plain soda (seltzer) with a hint of sugar. The orange flavor is very faint, but the smell is pleasant and the taste is refreshing. I cost about $1-1.50 for 8.4oz can and should be available at your nearest korean supermarket. If you’re a local to NYC, grab a can at any of the H-Marts in Flushing.
